Understanding that My World Does Not Stop Due to Alopecia

Posted by admin - June 11th, 2009

For years, women’s wigs were not forever my personal obsession. Art was what I thought about every day. This applied until last week when my hair wouldn’t be the same due to medical hair loss. I said that I can’t allow for the outcome of appearing on TV as a chrome-dome powerless Samson (from the Bible) of Texas.

I thought that my charm would be more difficult, bereaved of beautiful hair. I felt like that it would be impossble to realize wonderful style. Oh, how incorrect. Before I got wise and bought my favorite real wig, I went through a barrage of hot unnatural hair extensions that made me uncomfortable. My lover Jim found me some dignified wig stores where I could get human hair wigs I would love.

So I walked to the store and checked it out. I noticed an inventory of glorious, seamless lace front wigs. Their tailored invisible lace wigs did wonders for me.

Provided the right hair piece, a proud individual like me would develop courage while admitting to her balding. Never have I been so inspired to flaunt my current hair styles. It meant a lot to me to finally regain my personality on the streets of Manhattan.

Perhaps I’m getting out of hand as I ramble, but my style is an important aspect of your confidence level. Is there more things to individuality than a beautiful head of hair? You know, it couldn’t mean much if that were so. Its true, medical wigs offer an important option for stylish ladies who can relate.

I couldn’t tell you what these blessings have meant to me. No one has noticed the truth of me and my lacking hair. Still there you have it, I’m very set to be alive. Lace front wigs improved things for my family and I.

Judgmental people may call that sentiment is needy. Oh well. I don’t care who you are, what creature comforts make existence so possible? For me, it’s my career and my hair.

Fashion and Hard times

Posted by admin - June 9th, 2009

The recession has made us rethink our fashion statements. It’s been well pointed out that the recession has heavily affected the fashion industry. Although recessions come and go, this current recession we’re experiencing is going to have a long-term impression on our whole of idea of fashion. We are living in a very pragmatic period these days. Before these practical times, we delighted in the frivolity of fashion - nothing was excessive or too costly - you only worried about being accused of being too dreary. Now though the catwalks and labels are copping a bad press. And now that everyone’s conscious of globalisation, even dirt cheap fashion brands are getting a bad press for utilising sweatshops to develop their items! So what’s going wrong? Why are people turning against fashion like this?

No chance. Humans need fashion, and forever will. It is burned into our minds to identify trends! As a matter of fact, looking online there is tough rivalry between online fashion retailers (e.g. searching for ladies fashion accessories) - a sign there is still a great need for fashion. It’s the old-school idea that is expiring - being told what’s now cool by the big labels. Fashion has always looked at our lifestyles rather than the other way around, and nowadays many factors are turning us off big labels. For a start, people are a lot more mindful of globalisation, and showing off your fashion labels makes you look selfish and inconsiderate in many peer groups today. Secondly, it’s the economy, stupid! Style has invariably been seen as something of a luxury, not an essential. In an economic downturn, non-essential items get hit the worst. Finally, individuals define themselves much more individually nowadays - groups of friends are a lot more tightly knit, the days of huge TV show ratings are through, and fashion demands that type of herd-like thinking to trade in numbers.

How does the future look for the fashion industry? As ever, they must change to survive - create a greater range of fashion lines to supply to more niches of the market. If you’re a small store offering unique clothing at a cheap cost, the future looks bright for you despite the grim economic months we are experiencing. These days, people are shuffling their styles, purchasing from marketplaces and smaller, inexpensive fashion stores.

However, now, many years, centuries, even a millennium later, colon cleansing is still practiced all over the world. To be more precise, colon cleansing has been being practiced since the beginning of our time, or at least since the beginning of recorded history. The benefits of colon cleansing are tremendous, and hard to simply ignore. There are many different methods of colon cleansing, such as going to a doctor to get your colon cleansed, using an at home ‘do it yourself’ kit that is usually in the form of a suppository, or by using a different kind of at home colon cleansing system, such as the Purity 12 Cleanse colon cleanser. The people of the past were not ignorant to its benefits, and neither are we.

Importance of Skin Care

Posted by admin - January 26th, 2009

Clean, clear skin could get somebody strutting on the runway. But making sure to have good skin in itself is very vital, far more than an excuse to look good.

The skin, rather than a mere aesthetic husk, exists to protect the human body. Next to immunity itself, the skin acts as a buffer against viruses and bacteria that would otherwise infiltrate the body. This organ takes much space for that matter, being the body’s largest.

Granted, the skin itself could get infected, as in psoriasis or fungal infections, and so caring for it is truly essential. This holds true especially for diabetic people, who are most susceptible to skin infections.

The stakes in skin care are even higher now that the demographic of those afflicted with skin cancer is getting younger with every year.

If only for aesthetic reasons, it is nearly imperative to have good skin nowadays. Investing in skin care is a better deal than treating scars caused by acne later on. In the same way, early skin care would delay the appearance of wrinkles a little longer, just enough time to save on exorbitant face-lifts and Botox.

Skin care is relatively a no-brainer, an investment in moisturizing and lubricating products at best. Ideally, skin care should start as early as infancy.

The Math Behind Becoming A Millionaire

Posted by admin - June 13th, 2008

Did you know that you can be a millionaire without knocking off a convenience store or winning the lottery?

Have you ever thought about what you spend? For example, if you make $36,000 a year, after 30 years you will have made (and probably spent) just over $1 million dollars — not accounting for growth or cost-of-living adjustments.

Over your lifetime, you will spend well over a million dollars. What are you spending it on? How much are you saving?

If you are like the average American, you are saving less than 3% of your income. That is less than $30,000 over your lifetime — not accounting for interest and growth.

Can you save a million? Yes, with the compounding of interest, it is definitely possible.

For example, let’s say that you have $$35,000 in your tax-deferred savings right now. You started early and saved a bit. If you can find $200 each month to save at a 9% rate of interest, it will take you just under 33 years to save $1 million.

If you don’t have 32 years, you will simply have to increase your saving allotment to fit into the time frame.

You don’t need to have a million before you retire, but sometimes it can be nice to know that you have more than you have to have.

You can simply sit back and dream about being a millionaire, or you can get up and make it happen.

Take tips from the wealthy. Run your life and family like a business. Track every penny that is spent or saved. Set goals and live frugally.

Protect yourself from potential financial disasters. Create an emergency savings account as the first savings you devote money to. You should have at least three months’ worth of expenses in this account. It will protect your budget from accidents, repairs, medical emergencies and job losses. You won’t have to worry about taking money from your retirement when the washing machine breaks down. Your budget won’t be blown when a tire goes flat. You have money that cushions you from emergencies.

You should also make sure that you have good insurance coverage. Have it on your home, your car, your expensive luxury items and your health and life.

You can have a lot of money in savings, but a car wreck without insurance will land you paying up in court. Don’t let your lack of health insurance drain your savings if you develop a serious condition.

It isn’t silly or self-serving to make having $1 million your financial goal. Keep your goals in mind every day. Manage your finances, don’t let them manage you.

With the right goals, a little self control and a lot of dedications, you too can find your million. It’s too much money to spend on things you won’t even remember in 30 years.

5 Simple Tips To Fix 5 Mistakes We Almost All Make When We Put On Makeup

Posted by admin - May 25th, 2008

Have you ever been putting on your makeup and when everything is going well, you suddenly make a mistake that ruins all of your effort? Have you had to take off your makeup some time because, without meaning to, you’ve ruined your makeup? Surely you have; it happens to all of us.

In this article, you will find five of the most common mistakes and the best tips to quickly fix them without having to take off all of your makeup…

We hope you’ll like them and that they’ll help you easily improve your personal image…

“I’VE PUT ON TOO MUCH FOUNDATION”
This is a very common mistake that we all make when we put on makeup. If you are totally made up, to take off any excess foundation, do the following:

• Lightly moisten a clean sponge with water (the sponge should be almost dry and without any makeup residue) and sponge all of your face with downward movements.

TIP: It’s very important, most of all, to avoid excess foundation and concealer around the eyes. To eliminate any excess in this area, perform the same step and afterwards use your fingertips to softly blur the product in that area.

“MY EYESHADOW LOOKS TOO DARK”

If you’ve put on too much eyeshadow, or it looks too dark, follow these steps to quickly fix the problem:

• If it happened on your upper eyelid, blur the eyeshadow toward the edges with a clean brush to reduce the color. If it still looks very dark, apply a little bit of matte cream eyeshadow with a brush (if you don’t have cream eyeshadow, you can use translucent powder) and blur the eyeshadow.

• If it happened on the lower part of your eye, use a fine, clean brush to blur, or pat it softly with a Q-tip.

• If as you were blurring, you’ve left the contour of the eyelid and the shadow looks very dark, blur it with a clean sponge and afterwards apply a little bit of foundation, patting lightly to fix the foundation.

“I’VE PUT ON TOO MUCH BLUSH”
If you applied too much blush, try the following tip:

• Stroke your cheek with a thick, loose powder bushthe brush should be completely clean. If you still have too much blush on, apply translucent or clear powder with the same brush, just over the blush. That way the two powders should mix, clarifying the original color.

“I’VE PUT TOO MUCH MAKEUP ON MY EYEBROWS”
When we put too much makeup on our eyebrows, we look harsh and we can’t even recognize ourselves. Follow the following tip to quickly solve this:

• Simply brush the eyebrow with a clean Q-tip, going against the grain of your eyebrow. You will see how quickly the color you initially applied disappears.

“I’VE SMEARED MASCARA ON MY EYELID”
That’s all right. Just follow these next steps and you’ll see how you can quickly fix the problem:

• Continue applying makeup and when you have finished, allowing enough time for the mascara to dry, apply a Q-tip right over the smudge. You’ll see how it quickly disappears and you don’t need to remove the makeup from your whole eye.

TIP: A good trick to avoid smudging yourself is applying makeup first to your inferior eyelashes and then to the superior.

Short Hair Style? Make It Stylish, Sexy, and Chic

Posted by admin - May 23rd, 2008

In all of its transformations and variations, the short hair style has always been numbered at the top of the list when it comes to versatility, style and manageability. No other style catches the eye quite like the short hair style and no other style makes the wearer look as professional, chic and sexy as the short hair style

Short hair styles worn by women are a fairly new style trend when compared with women’s hair styles in general. In fact, cropped styles only came to the forefront of fashion a little more than 50 years ago. Since that time, the short hair style has given women the freedom to express themselves in numerous ways. From the funky and spiked to the soft and feminine, the short hair style can be worn by any woman of any personality, style and age.

Short hair no matter what the age

It has long been a held belief that an older woman should wear a short hair style to make her appear younger. While there is some truth in the belief that long hair tends to make wrinkles and flaws more noticeable, short hair styles and long hair styles can both be worn by women of all ages if they choose the right style to compliment their particular face shape and bone structure.

A good rule of thumb to follow when it comes to choosing a short hair style to suit your age is to pay more attention to your overall appearance rather than focus too much on how old you are. For example: Trendy, spiked styles can emphasize flaws and sagging skin, but I have seen women in their 70s with exceptional bone structure wear these short hair styles and look amazing. On the other hand, I have also seen younger women try to wear these same short hair styles and not be able to quite carry it off. So, if you want to wear a short hair style, pay close attention to your face shape, build and style of dress before deciding how to cut your hair.

Short hair to flatter your face

I’ve heard it said many times by many people, “I always wanted to wear a short hair style, but I don’t look right with short hair” Ladies, this is nonsense. Granted, not every woman can wear every short hair style, but every woman can wear a short hair style that is tailor-made to compliment their face shape and beautiful features.

There are five basic face shapes: oval, heart, round, square and triangular. All of these shapes can be beautiful, but one is ideal: oval. No matter what shaped face you have, achieving the perfect look involves picking the right cut or short hair style that will make your face appear more oval.

To do this, you and your stylists can try different variations of popular short hair styles to compliment your individual features. For example: If you have a round face shape, you can still wear your favorite short hair style as long as you bring some hair forward on your cheekbones and wear a little height in the bang to give your face the illusion that it is oval.

The bottom line is that the short hair style is not for just a few who have been blessed with perfectly proportioned features. With the right short hair style, you too can sport trendy sexy cropped locks that will be guaranteed to turn a few heads.

7 Steps To Having More Energy

Posted by admin - May 7th, 2008

1. Get enough sleep.

Sleep deprivation is the most common cause of low energy and
fatigue. Most adults need 8 hours of sleep every night. If
you are sleeping in late on weekends, it’s a sign that you
don’t get enough sleep during the week.

If you have to wake up early in the morning, go to sleep
earlier in the evening. Going to bed even 30 minutes
earlier can make a huge difference in your energy levels
during the day!

2. Reduce clutter.

Not being able to find anything among out-of-control piles
of papers is stressful. Clothes that you never wear, papers
that are falling everywhere and useless items that you feel
sorry to throw out can invade your space and take over your
life.

Clutter causes stress and saps away energy. Dump all
unnecessary stuff in a big garbage can, and you’ll be able
to breathe easier and have more energy.

3. Drink more water.

Being dehydrated makes you feel tired and irritable. If you
are not thirsty, that does not mean that you drink enough
water. By the time you feel thirsty it’s too late - you are
already dehydrated.

Most people need at least 8 cups of water per day. The
easiest way to know that you are drinking enough is to buy
one of those “8 glass” water-bottles that they sell in most
drugstores.

4. Take a walk.

Sitting in the chair all day can make you feel stiff and
tired, and then you’d feel too lazy to get up, creating a
vicious cycle of inactivity.

Make it into a habit to take a walk every day, and your
energy levels will increase.

5. Break a routine.

Having the same old routine every day sucks out your soul
and steals your energy.

Do not allow yourself to get stuck in a rut! Do something
new on a regular basis.

6. See a friend.

Isolation is a recipe for bad mood and low energy. Even
when you don’t feel like dealing with anyone, spending time
with a person whose company you enjoy will energize you.

7. Lose weight.

Carrying excess weight puts additional strain on the body.
Even an extra 10 lbs are hard to carry. Try lifting a 10 lb
sack of potatoes! Now imagine it being permanently attached
to you - day and night.

If you are overweight, your body has to work hard to
constantly carry around the extra pounds. Shed the excess
fat, and you’ll feel lighter and more energetic.

Let Spring Find You

Posted by admin - May 4th, 2008

Only with winter-patience can we bring
The deep-desired, long-awaited spring.
– Anne Morrow Lindbergh

Living in four seasons keeps us accustomed to change. Just as
we get use to living in one season, another one soon follows. We
can never get too comfortable. Maybe that is why we are referred to, in this part of the world, as “rugged” New Englander’s.

Another test of our endurance is the transition into spring. Natives refer to this time of year as Mud Season. It begins as soon as temperatures rise above 30 degrees Fahrenheit. The sun melts the snow and ice while the earth gives a huge heave. The frozen dirt softens and becomes liquid lava that oozes down back roads swallowing up everything in its path.

Many of us have experienced firsthand the results of trying to move through the mud. You don’t. You get stuck. Your shoes or boots are literally sucked off your feet. We have to learn to be patient during mud season and resist the impulse to try and maneuver down impassable roads.

Spring teaches us that timing is everything. Digging up
the dirt to see if the spring bulbs are growing is fruitless.
All things in nature happen in their own time.

Where in your life have you been trying to push the season, not
trust your timing, or having faith that you will get to where you want to go….when the time is right?

How do you know when the time is right to launch a new business,
change careers, or work on improving some aspect of your life?
Begin by paying attention to the signs around you that the
road ahead is passable. Signs can come in the form of coincidences, chance meetings, a movie, or a book that falls from a shelf. Doors that were previously closed to you seem to open. Someone says something that offers a clue to where you need to go next. You just have stand still and tune in to the guidance all around you.

When nothing on the surface seems to be changing,
trust that new growth is happening. Have faith that the evidence
will appear surely as the green shoots from tender plants
poke their way through the dirt each spring.

Everything in nature, including us, has an internal sense of timing. Stand still. Tune in. Trust your timing. Let spring find you.
