Got NY FiOS? NYC Fios for Most People

Purchasing movies and other content material on a tv display screen usually suggests buying a unique device such as an Apple Tv or plugging a great deal of wires into the correct holes about the PCs and TVs.

Tv service provider Verizon fios is testing a service that would eliminate that headache. It would allow you view movies, search photos or read your e-mail through your Tv. The television is essentially a mirror screen in the computer monitor. You begin by getting and installing the software in your computer. Even though Verizon fios won’t provide details on it, the software works much like remote-access applications that let troubleshooters diagnose your Computer from elsewhere. Then, whatsoever you activate in your personal computer will show up in your Tv. It receives sent from your laptop or computer back again over FiOS lines to its network, which then sends the picture back for your Tv display screen like a channel that only you can view. New York City Verizon fios isn’t talking about when folks will get the service and whether or not it will cost more. It is announcing a constrained trial for now, to start by June. And it’ll only be accessible to consumers who’ve each World wide web and digital services by way of FiOS. You will likely not be in a position to manage your Desktop with your Tv remote, although, meaning you’d have to obtain as much as switch movie or pause it.

Blogging Going Forward

Posted by admin - January 10th, 2010

Blogging is your online diary of events, thoughts or for the business person a reserve of articles and comments directed toward your business. That definition is just the beginning of what blogging is becoming — it’s becoming much more.

Since Google Adsense has allowed Google Ads to occupy a place on your blog — additional revenue, is at your disposal. “Oh”, you say, “is that all?” No way. There are some individuals that do not have a website, but are utilizing their blog or multiple blogs to create an income, even testing the waters before a website goes up, and again, creating a presence on the web. And as for advertising for your blog — take a look at BlogSnob at http://blogsnob.simpleads.net.

Your Blog, Your Website

For those who have a website, your blog can help you with your SEO process. As your readership increases so will your ranking — what is dependent on that, of course, is the quality of the content. Content and search engines are extremely compatible as you know — thus, your search engine ranking can take a big jump.

If you have a website, here are some ways to getting noticed:

1. A remotely maintained blog or one on your own server, place a link on your website. This can help you to increase traffic to your blog.

2. When you make an entry into your blog, try to make reference to something on your website — this creates an inbound links. In addition, I would use absolute links — which will enable you to place a couple of keywords in the title.

3. Be keyword aware — and relevant to your website. This helps your SEO process as well.

Blogging Accessories and Necessities

After you have written your quality content — get it out to the masses — have it pinged by Ping-o-Matic (http://pingomatic.com/)– again, it’s free. Pinging gets your blog out to the masses, letting them know that you have updated your blog and it is ready for them to read.

As your readership increases you may feel the urge to create a blog forum — a tagboard services, which enables your readers to interact, as if in, a forum. If you are on blogger.com they have several free tagboards that you can use — look under “Third Party Add-ons”, or do your own search in Google.

Will there be Misuses with Advertising?

Will there be and misuses with advertising in blogs? Yes. People have different agendas, priorities and scruples.

You will probably see article misuse as well as, reader frustration to advertising if it is overkill. Thus, first and foremost, the blog must give potential readers quality content, and as to advertising — it must be appropriate without overkill, or your reader will just simply click the blog away.

For example: 1. If you have more advertising then content — you’ve lost the premise of a blog. 2. And if you put links to your own products within the body copy of another person’s article, this, in my opinion, is changing copy, and saying that the author endorses the product. (article misuse)

Blogging can be a positive addition to your website or even to your first attempt to gaining a presence online. But with everything, there is a right way and a wrong way of presenting your product, service or views on line. Remember, to always keep your reader in the forefront — by asking yourself — if I was reading a blog, what would I want to see — and most importantly, what would annoy me the most.

To conclude, blogging is beginning to grow, and its uses, are only limited by an individual’s imagination, and of course, the search engines rules — and I might say, individual readers tolerances and your ethics.

Secrets to Successful Blogging

Posted by admin - May 21st, 2009

Blogs have become very successful and popular lately, and SEO consultants say that they can be very profitable if they are managed and marketed the right way. Generating profits from a blog doesn’t require selling anything. Profits can be from ad placements, banners, or contextual advertising. The best blogs draw the attention of a large audience and keep them coming back for more.

There are many types of blogs available. The most common types are:

- Professional blogs: These blogs are focused on discussions about professions, job aspects and career building

- Personal blogs: These blogs take the form of an online diary and contains thoughts, poems, experiences, and other personal matters

- Topical blogs: These blogs focus on a certain topic or niche, discussing specific aspects of the chosen subject

- Business blogs: As its name suggests, these are discussions about business and/or stock market

Other types of blogs include but are not limited to science blogs, cultural blogs, educational blogs, and photo blogs.

In order to have a successful blog that attracts a lot of visitors and keep them coming back, you need to follow some simple rules. Here are some tips from SEO consultants:

Before you begin blogging, carefully consider what you are going to write about in your blog as there are lots of interesting topics out there, waiting to be discussed. You can find them in every day life, in the media, in the news - anything that attracts attention and a loyal following is good. You can look for blog subjects in many places, the most important being the Internet of course.

Put quality content in your blog. If you have quality content people like to read, they will return to your blog and tell other people about it as well. Posting articles containing useful information on your blog is very beneficial for attracting more traffic. Make sure you add your URL address below your posted article! If other web site owners find your articles useful and decide to include them within the content of their web pages, the added link will contribute to increasing your popularity every time it is hyperlinked.

Update the blog on a regular basis. If you don’t do this, visitors will not return and they will move on to reading another blog that is updated more often. You should try to update your blog daily. Many newcomers have blogging fear, fearing their inability to update it daily. If your blog is interesting enough, offer your readers the ability to keep it updated by posting their own personal thoughts and share stories so you won’t have to do all the updating work yourself.

Listen to what your readers have to say. Always pay attention to the readers’ suggestions and try to find out what people were actually searching for when they found your blog. Try to focus on that theme and even consider developing it by encouraging the visitors to discuss new aspects of that particular theme.

Keep it short and concise - You don’t need material that takes hours to read, people usually like to quickly skim a blog for quick tidbits of useful information and if you post materials that are difficult or take a long time to read, you will most likely drive them away.

You can also include some artistic work or pictures in the blog, to make it more visually appealing. Blog picture managers such as Picasa are freely available on the Internet to accomplish this.

If your blog has interesting, original content, bloggers might decide to add links to it on their web sites and comment on your suggested topic. By gaining back-links to your blog from other web sites, your web site will place higher within search engine queries, thus boosting your link popularity.

Announce the launch of any new blog with press releases. Free publicity through press releases are powerful tools for increasing incoming traffic. Search engines love press releases and it gives them a good reason to spider and to index your site quickly.

Include free downloadable viral reports on your blog to turbo-charge visitor traffic and build a subscriber/viewer base quickly.

In order to simplify the creating and updating process of a blog, take advantage of the many blogging tools and software readily available, a number of them are free. Blogging software such as WordPress or Movable Type helps you update a blog easily. There are even free blog generators such as Blogger which allow you to host your content on Google’s servers without having to install any software or obtain a domain and host content.

Offer to inform readers of your blog with free email management services like Feedblitz (if you don’t have an email list management solution) in addition to offering RSS feeds for subscription. Readers and visitors can be kept updated of any new information being added to your blog without having to check the site constantly.

Utilize blog and ping to get sites indexed quickly by the search engines. By notifying popular ping servers monitored by blog search services such as Google Blog Search, you attract search engine spiders to a blog. A blog can automatically be setup to ping certain web sites. An easy method of doing this is by adding the Pingomatic service to the sites to ping in the blog software which pings many popular ping servers at once.

Finally, remember to submit to popular, high quality blog directories such as Feedster, Technorati, Blogstreet, and Best of the Web Blog Directory to boost your web traffic and link popularity!

If you respect these rules you will most likely have a successful blog, and you will be rewarded in the process. Ask a SEO consultant for further information and assistance if you are stuck for ideas to promote your new blog.

Blogs As A Marketing Tool

Posted by admin - April 30th, 2009

Blogs are the biggest things to happen to the Internet since personal home pages. Blogging software has made it easy for the average Joe to create his own blog, and the thriving community of bloggers have spurred designers to release completely free, and professionally looking templates.

However, other than being personal journals, blogs are a fantastic way to market your product or service. For example, you can create a blog about your company and the latest happenings, or what the management is doing. Or you could create a blog that showcases the development of your product, and the ways that it can improve someone’s daily life.

Using such inexpensive, low-maintenance technology to market your e-commerce site - without having to learn HTML or any of that gibberish - can create an awareness for your brand that conventional advertising can’t, and you can typically do it for less than $10 a month.

Either way, it is a site that your readers will appreciate for your honesty and the way that you put across your business/product/service. Typically blogs are a very casual medium, and are completely different from your usual corporate websites. Think of it as if you are conducting a conversation, and you will have a good idea of how a blog should be. Do not make the mistake of making your blog one big sales letter though! That will just create the opposite effect of what you want - turning off your readers and dismissing your blog instantly.

If you do it correctly, your blog will soon be improving your business’s reputation, and you will be getting more traffic over time. You will also have a great community of readers to bounce new product ideas or changes off. The more traffic you get to your blog, the more business you should be expecting. The thing about blogs is that they generate a lot of word-of-mouth recommendations, which are a great form of getting new customers, since they hear about you from a trusted source.

Before you begin blogging, you will have to make a choice of blogging software to use. There are paid service providers such as Blogware’s Blogtex, Expression Engine, or TypePad, which gives you everything from the software to the hosting service. Alternatively, you can also use free blog software such as or WordPress, which is just as powerful, and install them on your own web servers.

How To Use Your Blog to Market Your Business

Posted by admin - April 8th, 2009

Have you just started blogging? Or have you been blogging for a while? As you may already know, a blog is an excellent tool to let the world know about your business or your product, to connect with potential customers and promote your expertise. But how can you maximize your blog’s impact? Here are five tips to do just that:

- Blog Consistently. Many business owners get excited about blogging, post 3-6 times, and then promptly forget about the blog. I have seen many blogs that were started a year or two ago, have a grand total of five posts, and haven’t been updated since sometime last year.

To get the desired effect (search engine and human traffic), you need to update your blog on a regular basis. Search engines love new content and keep coming back to index it. Potential customers also like new content; it’s what keeps them coming back to read your blog.

- Use Your Blog For Branding. Your blog is an extension of your business, so make your blog have a look and feel that mirrors that of your business web site.

If your blog is hosted on the same domain as your web site, you should match the look and feel of your web site exactly. This will be more difficult to achieve if a third party provider hosts your blog. However, you should still aim to present the same brand image.

- Use Search Engine Optimization To Optimize Each Blog Post. The purpose of your blog is to get people who are in your target market to read your posts and enter your sphere of influence. Traffic from search engines does not cost any money, and it is a great way to get potential customers to your blog.

Treat each one of your blog posts as a separate file to be optimized for search engines. Use a keyword research tool to find phrases that are related to the main subject of the post, and weave them into the content of the post.

- Have A Special Offer On Your Blog. Do you offer a free special report? Do you offer a mini course as a bonus for new newsletter subscribers? Add the offer to your blog. This will transform people from casual surfers who just happened to find your blog to newsletter subscribers.

- Share Information About Your Events, Products and Seminars. You might think that everyone has already heard about your upcoming teleclass on life and work balance or your e-book about achieving financial success. Not so! The person reading your blog might be hearing about you for the very first time, so they have no idea about your teleseminars or products unless you specifically tell them.

Avoid overselling, as it will dramatically reduce the number of your blog readers. Do, however, let your blog readers know about your seminars and products. If you don’t tell them, nobody will.

A blog is an excellent tool to generate additional web site traffic, get new newsletter subscribers and sell more products. Use your blog to introduce potential customers to your business.

How Yahoo’s Recent Facelift Can Mean More Traffic To Your Site

Posted by admin - March 1st, 2009

It even surprised me.

Yes, even though I have been pointing out the possibility since July, and was forced by demand to release my study findings before my book was even half finished, I was shocked when I heard the news as well.

You see, I was sure we were at least a year off from this glorious day.

The News

Yahoo has had a little facelift, which you’ve probably read about by now. The real news is more important for your site - the “My Yahoo!” page looks different too.

On September 28, 2004, surfers who logged in to their personalized Yahoo area saw an announcement explaining the RSS and Atom files that show updated information to a website as content feeds, effectively pushing news feeds into the mainstream.

The new look to this section of Yahoo was presented as a full page ad to every single account holder upon first log in that day, and even now, there remains a notice posted.

When I logged into my page in the “My Yahoo!” section, I saw a big difference in the number of feeds left to choose from, as well as in the way they were presented.

Currently, the RSS module boasts “150,000 sources”. If your site isn’t one of them, its crucial that you act now. If you have one and you’re not getting the results you’d like from your set-up, there are small changes you can implement that will make a huge difference in your listing.

Best results aren’t as easy as submitting your feed now, but you’re still within the window of opportunity - if you do it properly.

What the News Could Mean For Your Site If You Act Now

One of my clients recently called this “the back door into Yahoo”. Whether that statement is accurate as far as getting included, or receiving an increase in rankings within Yahoo’s search engine via your feed, depends on your site, and whether you create your feed correctly.

If you could use a daily stream of traffic from even a small portion of Yahoo’s estimated 20 million users, this could be your final wake-up call. You’ll want to learn how to create a feed that gets well listed immediately.

Currently, the RSS module boasts “150,000 sources”. Yahoo will still need hundreds, perhaps thousands more, even if it only intends to list the “creme de la creme” of the submissions it gets. Being in that group is as easy as submitting your feed.

Being at the top of the list isn’t. However, you’re still within the window of opportunity if you take the time to learn how to do this properly. You can get free details on how to do that at helpmerss.com .

“My Yahoo!” RSS Headline module Coming Out of Beta?

If I had to guess, I’d say all signs point to yes. When that happens, Yahoo’s RSS/Atom directory will likely contain only those who added their feeds early. New feeds seeking to be included will probably face stricter standards.

If you don’t have one yet don’t worry, because it’s never been easier to make one. If you can cut and paste, there are tools all over the Net that will show you how- some will even generate the file for you.

However, there are still certain guidelines you need to follow with your feed to get a good result out of Yahoo - it’s not as simple as adding your feed now that there are more competing listings.

Yahoo is still accepting new sources for RSS feeds. Readers of my last book state that they are getting excellent results following my instructions, though initial inclusion no longer occurs at the same rate. Plenty of markets have few feeds available, or none at all. Your site could fill that void.

That means you still have a chance at a first page ranking. The traffic I get on a daily basis from My Yahoo readers alone sounds like I just like to brag.

And I do, but that’s hardly the point.

The point is, there’s no place you can even go to buy the caliber of exposure to the quality of audience that reads feeds. The typical audience that accesses information by feed are also blog readers. A study this summer estimated that the 69.3% of blog readers are aged 29-50, and that 40% of this audience are people who have household incomes greater than $90,000.

The type of surfer that would subscribe to your feed has pre-qualified themselves as a lead, with a certain level of understanding and interest in your topic, often on a professional level. And if you don’t spend every post hitting them over the head with your sales pitch, they can be both loyal and interactive.

(If you do, they’ll unsubscribe from your feed faster than you can spell s-p-a-m.)

And if you’re in the business of providing information you can use, in a way that shows how you can solve their problem, it’s like preaching to the converted. If your product solves their problem, and you show that you deserve the trust of this subscriber, you’ll also find the route to a sale an increasingly downward slope.

The bottom line - this is the power surfer’s favorite toy. And if your content appeals to them, you need to learn how to play.

Blog Spot

Posted by admin - February 23rd, 2009

I have finally come to the conclusion that blogs are the only way forward. I have held off for months into entering this regime due to the fact that finding interesting material to write about three or four times a week would be quite taxing, but I have just the entered the portal so at least I will be putting my brain to more use.

Blogging seems to have taken over the internet, all the old style business websites seem to have disappeared or have been resigned to the depth of the search engines leaving a myriad of websites all fighting to gain some recognition of their worth.

Two of the main searches on Google consisting of (work at home) and (make money online) have changed completely, it seems we no longer cater for needs of the searcher looking for a plain old business opportunity.

The searches now consist mainly of blogs or websites giving loads of advice on what to do and what not to do.

Everyone has taken literally the advice of many and filled their websites with text which on many is not particularly interesting but seems to please Google.
It seems that keywords are the dominating factor and it doesn’t matter what rubbish you fill your website with as long as you have loads of keywords to please the search engines.

You could have the best business idea in the world but if you havn’t watered it down with keywords that are unnecessary in reality then it is doomed to failure.

Doing a search on (make money online) I found the no1 spot was occupied by a website that said Offline for maintenance it has been in this position for over a week and consists of three blocks of adsense ads, if this is all we need to do to get top spot how much easier life would be.

Going back to blogs as a newcomer to the scene I still have to determine whether my blog should consist of business tips or advice on websites or just simple every day nonsense. What do people want to read ?

You can get every sort of advice and help on the web about anything and every thing so it seems strange that people keep repeating the well meant advice and of course people keep reading it.
If its nonsense they want then even that can be found on the web.

Oh well I will simply write about what comes into my head at the time of writing and hope that someone somewhere will think! well that’s a novel idea, or this is a load of rubbish, as long as it provokes some sort of interest good or bad then it was worth writing.

I don’t profess to be an expert on anything to do with the internet I have just learnt by my mistakes and experience, but here is one piece of advice for all of you who want to make money from an affiliate program or your own creation and that is: do not depend on your website to spread the word unless it is near the top of the searches. You have to spend money to make money so advertise it for all your worth, if you don’t have the money to spare then visit every free ad site you can find and advertise there.

It may not be so effective as paid advertising but it can work, if you would like a list of hundreds of free ad sites on the internet then a visit to my website will give you what you are looking for it is number 1 on the list below and of course the list is free.

The Lucrative Connection Between Blogs And Google

Posted by admin - February 19th, 2009

It’s no great secret!

No great secret that is, unless you haven’t discovered
what many seasoned webmasters and just plain ordinary
folks have found out.

“There’s gold in them there blogs!”

Yours for the mining, or we should say writing.

Many people have discovered and are benefiting from
the connection between blogs and Google Adsense.
A lucrative connection that’s earning them extra
money each month as they receive their checks from
Google. It’s putting a big smiiiiiiile on
their faces.

What’s even more amazing, all this can be set up
at zero-cost to anyone who can use a cursor. It’s
a totally free system that can earn you money each
and every month.

What gives? What’s the connection?

Actually, there is no big secret, anyone can
set up a blog or blogs and put Google’s Adsense
code on them. If you’re new to the Internet or not
a webmaster — these things may have to be explained
further.

Blogs are online journals where anyone can write
on any subject or topic that interests them. Blogs
are extremely popular with Internet users, with
an estimated 60 million or more blogs on the web.
Any and every topic (news, hobbies, sports, etc.)
is covered in these blogs.

Creating a blog couldn’t be easier, there are many
online blogging sites that will let you set up a
blog of your own for free. The two main biggies
are bloglines.com (owned by Ask Jeeves) and
blogger.com (owned by Google). It only takes minutes
to create your own blog.

Or many webmasters who don’t want to go the ‘free
route’ can use a system from wordpress.com and
place or host the blogs on their own sites. It will
give you a lot more options. Regardless which method
you use, once you have your blog up and running, you
will need to get a Google Adsense account here:
https://www.google.com/adsense/

Google Adsense is an advertising system where you
as the publisher places the Adsense code on your site.
Google then uses this code to send targeted ‘keyword
guided’ ads to be displayed on your site. If someone
clicks on your Google ad, you earn a portion of the
ad revenue. These ads come in many formats and sizes.
Chances are you have already seen these ‘Ads by Google’
on many sites that you have visited, you may have even
clicked on one or two!

Advertisers wanting visitors or customers to their sites,
buy these ads using the Google Adword system. Commonly known
as Pay-Per-Click advertising. This system is based on
keywords, these are the words people use to search for
things on the Internet. Because they are ‘keyword based’
– these ads match perfectly with the content on your
site or blog - delivering well targeted visitors to the
advertisers.

Google’s Adsense program is very user friendly. Google
lets you customize your ads to match the ‘look and feel’
of your site. Google also gives you some good advice on
‘where’ to place these ads on your site to increase your
click-thru rate. It would be a good idea to read this
section before you place the Adsense Code on your site
or blog.

Google also lets you track your adsense code on 200
different urls (channels) so you can see which web pages
or blogs are earning you money. As part of Google’s ‘TOS’
Terms of Service, individual publishers (that’s you!) are
not allowed to discuss any Adsense earnings they get from
Google. So mums the word.

However, one of the ‘keys’ to making ad revenue from
your Google Adsense account has to do with ‘keywords’.
Obviously, some keywords are worth more than others,
that is - certain keywords or phrases that people type into
search engines will pay more. For example, which one do
you think will bring in more revenue to your Adsense
program — someone searching for a home loan or someone
searching for a baseball cap.

Many webmasters or bloggers use sites like www.overture.com
to see what advertisers are paying for certain keywords.
Just as important, it will also give you the number of
searches made by surfers for your chosen keywords
or phrases last month.

The real trick is to set up a blog or blogs on popular
(heavy traffic) topics or keywords that pay the most money
to publishers like you. Also, it’s best to create a blog or
blogs on topics that will keep your interest for years to
come. You do have to write interesting stories, facts,
information on your topic in order to bring visitors and
traffic to your blogs… so pick something that you’re very
passionate about.

Submit your blogs to all the blog directories, here’s a
good place to start:www.masternewmedia.org/rss/top55/

Once you have a regular flow of traffic to your blogs,
you will see a regular flow of adsense income coming to
you each month. The more traffic or page impressions you
get, the more you could possibly earn.

Blogs use RSS to syndicate their content. RSS stands for
Really Simple Syndication, the standard format for syndication
of content from online blogs, news sites, forums and other
web sites. Google has introduced a system where you can
place your Adsense Code into your RSS Feeds. You have to
apply separately to get into this program — it’s only
in Beta yet. But the potential for RSS Adsense could be
very beneficial to bloggers, imagine getting your Adsense
code syndicated to thousands upon thousands of
subscribers or web sites.

Google has also gone so far as applying for a patent on
RSS ads. This patent could give Google control of RSS
advertising. The application was filed by Google employee
Nelson Minar and is currently under review by the U.S.
Trade and Patent Office.

Regardless of whether or not Google is successful in this
application; the potential of RSS Adsense is great and may
have far reaching implications in the very near future. This
could also prove to be a very lucrative system for both Google
and the ordinary webmaster or blogger.

A very lucrative connection indeed.
