Why Do Men Get Abdominal Implants?

Posted by admin - September 17th, 2009

In modern times, men have become more and more willing to have cosmetic surgery, including implants. Implants can improve the shape of many parts of the body, but one of the most interesting uses for cosmetic implants in men is to make muscles look bigger. Abdominal implants, for instance, can give men the highly-sought 6-pack abs without the requirement to spend so many hours in the gym.

Surprisingly, the men who get abdominal implants are often not out of shape. Being able to see a 6-pack, whether natural or silicone, requires a low body fat percentage. Therefore, men who want to have great abs will usually be quite conscious of their health and work to make sure that their muscular assets aren’t hidden by a layer of fat. They work out, watch their diet, and do all the other things which promote a good body shape. Yet for all of this, their abs stubbornly resist getting that action-movie actor look. After spending a lot of time without getting perfect results, these men may decide to get pectoral implants.

Abdominal implants, like many “muscle” implants, are made of solid silicone rather than the mushy kind used for breast implants. They are inserted through small incisions under the arms, and slid into place from there. Surgeons like Dr. Alan Kingdon advise that it takes a few weeks of recovery, and then the man can go back to his normal routine. Now, however, the “normal” routine can now include showing off those 6-pack abs.
