Five Things You Should Know Before You Start Blogging

Posted by admin - October 31st, 2008

So you want to join in on the blogging phenomenon? Before you get started, there are a few things you should know about blogging. Blogging is a lot like an online journal. There are thousands of bloggers online posting each day. It is a trend that started in 1997 and has continued to grow steadily. If you are interesting in blogging, but have not yet began, read over these five things you should know before you begin.

You Can Be Personal

Many times new bloggers are really not sure what to post. They know that their blog is a personal space, but they are afraid to make their posts personal in any way. The best bloggers do put themselves out there via their posts. They will post what’s on their mind and their views or opinions on pressing issues. They may do so in a humorous manner or be quite serious. Sometimes new bloggers are afraid to post their true thoughts because their blog can be commented upon. The fact is however that not everyone will agree with your thoughts and posts, but you should not let that hold you back. These are people who don’t personally know you, so their comments really don’t matter much anyway. Don’t be afraid to let your true feelings show on your blog, after all, that it what an online journal is all about.

Don’t Be Too Personal

Although it is fine to be personal in your posts, you might not want to be too personal in how much you disclose about yourself. For example, including your phone number or address in a post or on your profile is probably not a good idea. You should think smart and only allow people to know things that you want them to know. For your own safety, you might not want to post your last name either. When someone has a lot of information about you, it is easier for them to victimize you through identity theft, harassment, or other crimes. So, stay safe and never post really private information.

Never Use Real Names

When you are posting, and keeping it personal and real, there can be times in which other people in your life come up in topic. Be very careful including other people in your posts. First, never use their real names. This is a huge mistake. Unless the person gives you permission to write about them, you should never do so. It will only lead to trouble. If the person you mention reads your blog, they could get offended that you are writing about them. Even if the post is positive, it can be seen much like talking behind their back. Try to keep the posts about you or celebrities or other public figures. Let everyone else’s business remain their own.

Keep It Fresh

One of the best things you can do as a blogger is to keep your blog fresh. This means that you should be posting often and changing things around when doing so. Post on different topics so your audience can stay interested. Also, post at least twice a week. People who will become fans of your site will want to read as much as possible on your blog. Updating your blog regularly will allow them to be entertained. If you only post once a month, chances are no one will remember to keep checking your blog and your traffic will not be impressive.

You Can Blog For Free

Before you pay an arm and a leg for a blogging space, you should know that there are sites where you can blog for free. Yes, for no charge at all you can set up your own blog. These sites are great for the new blogger. If you want something a little more sophisticated, you might have to pay for it. The free sites are very well maintained however. They are easy to use and offer several different templates for you to use when designing your blog. They automatically update your posts for you, which make them a breeze! Remember, you should not pay a large fee for your blog, especially if you are new to blogging. Do your research and find the free sites!

Acne ’s solution

Posted by admin - October 29th, 2008

Anyone with or who has had acne can tell you, including myself, how many times a day they’ve cleaned their faces with anti-bacterial facial wash and still faced new pimples the next day. That’s why the answer for Acne’s definite solution is in knowing what is causing this skin problem. Only after the cause is been established, a cure will be possible.

Some of the possible causes are hormone imbalance, water retention and toxins. So, if you want to start any treatment you may first know witch is the exact cause of your Acne problem. That’s why some topical creams for acne available in the market may be only a waste of money. They will only kill germs and open up blocked pores providing only temporary relief, but you will never experience acne free skin by only focusing on acne from the outside.

As we said, medical treatment has focused on suppressing symptom and they can be very effective for a meantime. The individual may notice results for a period of time, but in the long run, these drugs actually make the condition worse. So, to avoid acne scarring, treating acne is important. And the best way to do it is trough natural procedures, so you can get the best complexion possible with no side effects. Commercial acne treatments are very possible to have unwanted effects on us. Certain creams and lotions that contain zinc, sulphur or benzyl peroxide may reduce pimples, but they can also burn and leave skin dry and blotchy. Other treatments like oral medications also offer acne healing, but with significant risks. Antibiotics, for instance, do improve acne conditions, but they also interfere with the balance of healthy intestinal flora, making the problem cyclic.

Some Acne common treatments contain oral contraceptives under the direction of a physician. They usually recommend topical medication for Acne problem. This medicine is applied directly to the acne lesions, blackheads, or to the entire area of affected skin. But, when scarring is occurred, more invasive procedures would be suggested by your doctor like medical or surgical superficial laser procedures. These, are treated by a kind of laser which allows energy to go deeper into the skin and tighten the underlying tissue and plump out depressed scars.

So, it’s clear that the best option for a natural process in curing acne is to look for a product that doesn’t provide a meantime solution. Natural products store will have a variety of quality brands of cleansers, toners and topical creams that are gentle and effective against adult acne, but without these negative effects.

Why Zinsa from Chile Takes His Annual Leave in Chamonix Village

Posted by admin - October 28th, 2008

Chamonix Haute Savoie France is a stunning alpine town with the awe inspiring Monte Bianco and majestic glaciers. My friends enjoy going climbing or from time to time sightseeing. I sometimes get a flight from New Castle and stay at a Chamonix catered chalet for the duration of my break.

My family and I previously went to Grand Wailea Resort Hotel and Spa however it rarely met the standards of its description: A central pool area lined with palm trees stretches down near the sands of Wailea Beach at this luxurious resort, boasting world-class spa services and several options for recreation, located 15 miles from Kahului Airport. Local attractions include Kihei Town, approximately three miles away, and Iao Valley State Park, located 17 miles from the resort.Situated on 40 landscaped acres, the Grand Wailea Resort Hotel and Spa is just steps from the beach, and offers a vast array of services. The 50,000 square foot award-winning Spa Grande features more than 100 massage and beauty treatments. In addition, the spa also houses a fitness center with personal trainers. The 4,850 square-foot Hibiscus Pool is an adult-only swimming area featuring mosaic tiles and cabana rentals. The 25,700 square-foot Wailea Canyon Activity Pool is comprised of nine swimming pools among six levels, connected by a river guests can swim which flows at various speeds. The activity pools features several slides, rope swing, water elevator, waterfalls, caves, three whirlpools, a sauna, an infant pool, a swim-up bar, a volleyball net, and cabana rentals. Additional water-related activities include scuba lessons in the pool, kayak and windsurfing lessons, and equipment rentals. Other amenities include a kids’ club, 17 shops, extensive art collection, art and garden tours, free Wailea area shuttles, business center, tour assistance, babysitting services, and laundry services. Dining options include the open-air Bistro Molokini, Cafe Kula, Grand Dining Room, the oceanside Humuhumunukunukuapua’a, Japanese cuisine at Kincha, the Volcano Bar, and the Botero Gallery Bar.Guest rooms feature private balconies, separate bathtubs and showers, work desks, air-conditioning, ceiling fans, cable TV, telephones, minibars, safes, coffeemakers, and bathrobes.

However in Chamonix Mont Blanc France the luxury catered chalet is invariably fine. In addition dining in our groups preferred cafe, Baskin-Robbins 31 Ice Cream & Yogurt Store, scoffing duck gumbo is a treat. Chamonix France is a big enough town to make sure that there is lots for the snowboarder to do. Amongst other things it includes a beauty salon and a range of terraced caf©s, Chamonix offers a combination of climbing, French charm and shopping which few resorts can hope to rival.

Accentuating Your Business Building

Posted by admin - October 28th, 2008

If you own or lease a business building and you want to get more traffic and attract people to see your signage it is important to accentuate your business building if at all possible. If you lease a building you may have to look in the lease to see that there are no restrictions on your signage.

Sometimes a signage with a logo around it or at the start of the business sign can accentuate your business building. One of the simplest things you can do is to put a stripe around your building. It sells rather silly but is so easy to do anybody can do it and if you’re very careful how you do what you can either use reflective paints or a glow in the dark decals.

Did you know that landscapers make a lot of money accentuating flower beds around businesses? Having corporate accounts in business is great for a landscaper because it helps them make more money. Do you know why? Because when you accentuate your building with flowers in flowerbeds and a little landscaping it is more pleasing to the eye and more inviting to your potential customers. It is like putting out the red welcome mats and maybe that is another good idea for you.

Accentuating your business building may not cost as much as you think and if you’re very creative you can do it on the cheap. I want you to go home tonight in think about this and come up with six things that you can do to your business building to better accentuate your business and also think what that will be pleasing to your customer. You don’t have to do all of them at once. Pick the ones that are the most inexpensive and do those first. You will be glad you did. Consider this in 2006.

Profit By Investing in Your Brand Account

Posted by admin - October 27th, 2008

In the Music Biz, marketing makes the difference between artist and musicians succeeding or failing.

There are a few marketing key terms that you should know to be able to market your music successfully.
This article deals with the first and most important marketing technique - branding.

Branding involves creating symbols that potential fans or “target’s” will associate with you or your product.
Those symbols when combined and attributed to your brand are then known as your brands identity.

Branding is reflected in everything you do or say as an artist or musician.

The pictures you take, Your autograph signatures,
your name, logo, interviews, cover art and anything audible or visual should all be taken into consideration when
developing your brand identity.

If your music brand is still young (under five years), be careful of everything you do or say.

Remember the Dixie Chicks? The Dixie Chicks were on top of the world until the day Dixie Chicks lead singer Natalie Mains made disparaging remarks about George W. Bush while overseas. With those remarks about George W. Bush, the Dixie Chicks branded themselves as “unpatriotic”. Hundreds of radio stations immediately yanked the Dixie Chicks music off the air.
Be warned, watch what you do or say very carefully.

Back in the day, artists had publicists who would coach them as to what to say or do. Of course this often made the artist’s
feel like puppets, but this practice usually kept the artists brand integrity intact. If you are a artist or musician be
calculated about every thing you say or do. If someone hits you with a question you don’t want to answer, say something like
“no comment” or “I’m all about music right now”.

Another thing to consider is your target market. Find no more than two markets or genre’s to market to. I’ve worked with
aspiring artist who say “I can sing all kinds of music”. Being a versatile singer or performer is a great thing, but not when building your brand identity. The majority of humans need to be able to categorize things in their minds in order to find a spot for them in our minds. Picture the human brain as a fleshy computer. It has many folders with many many files. If your target can’t file your product into one or two categories (genres)instantly, you will be deleted.

It’s best to pick one or two genres -max, to market to.
E.g. jazz and blues, hip hop and r&b, folk and country etc.

Build your own brand Identity - don’t let the public do it for you.

Recently, Arctic Monkeys sold over 300,000 using only
the internet to market their music. Arctic Monkeys came out of nowhere with their CD “Whatever They Say I Am, That’s What
I’m Not”.
Arctic Monkeys got lots of free press but not the kind they would have liked. News articles and radio features about Arctic Monkeys all said the same thing -”we don’t know who they are or what they stand for”. Well that’s no way to build a brand.

With all of the free press Arctic Monkeys have received you’d expect them to be on every American teens lip’s. Not so.
Most American Teens don’t even know Arctic Monkeys exist. Arctic Monkeys allowed the press limited access to their brand and the press did what they do best when the details are missing - they fill in the blanks with speculation.

If you are a young brand don’t let this happen to you. Tell people what to think and say about you through press releases, and brand building activities.

Let your brand account grow before you take deposits out of it.

With branding, consistency is builds equity. Once you have built your brand identity and start to get some good attention,
leave it alone and let it create value for you. Consider your branding efforts as putting money into an interest generating
account like a 401K. The more you put into the same account the more interest you’ll get. The more interest you get the more money you’ll get. Get it?

Artists and musicians who change their brand identity often don’t have much success establishing a solid brand identity
and have a much more difficult time getting people to remember who they are or why they should buy that brand.

What you are shooting for is what’s known as brand presence. To have brand presence, you’ll need to pick a target market, you’ll
need to build the the associative symbols that represent your brand, you’ll need to handle your young brand with care, you’ll need to limit where and how you market your brand, you’ll have to tell people what your brand symbolizes, you’ll have to invest in your brand and let it grow for you without changing it.

As you follow the steps above you’ll see your brand grow and give you a return on your investment.

T-Shirt Printing

Posted by admin - October 24th, 2008

Through usage of a modernized technology, many familiar logos and phrases are worn on all our backs. From visiting concerts, to visiting Hell, to making political statements, T-shirts have grazed our backs since their debut by European soldiers in World War I. Not until after World War II were T-shirts considered acceptable to where standalone (not under another shirt) when such pioneers as John Wayne, Marlon Brando, and James Dean were famed to have worn them on nationally syndicated television. Since it’s debut, the T-shirt has gone through many different variations including tank tops, “wife beaters” muscle shirts, scoop neck shirts, and V-neck shirts. Throughout all this, transition from one style to the next, the concept of the T-shirt and the T-shirt printing process has remained the same.

The commonly used process for T-shirt printing has been silk-screening, although other processes have arisen with menial popularity and success. Processes such as airbrush, appliqué, embroidery, and ironing, have cropped up and still exist in specialized capacity. However for the mass production of T-shirts the process of silk screening still reigns supreme. Through the process of separating different pigments of ink into CMYK, and RGB, then forcing them through the silk screen onto a polyester T-shirt, the familiarized garment of choice is born. Through this process many company logos, popular slogans, humorous and/or ironic sayings, and designer logos have been flaunted for generations and continue to display on the backs of millions. As cost effective form of advertising, T-shirt printing brings together profitability and marketability for different aspects of business.

Combining desirable aspects of business, with the ability to mass produce logos and statements, pave a great road to success for many capitalistic minds. Averaged over the cost of production and the overall cost of marketing, T-shirt design and printing is a grandiose way of marketing any given product, name or logo, and gaining exposure to millions. The most reputable usage of such a marketing technique is applied to younger generations who spend their hard earned dollars on concert tickets and T-shirt memorabilia to commemorate the times they shared at any given event.

Such headlining events as Ozzfest, Live Aid, and other reputable national, and international tours, provide necessary, and even excess fund beyond that of ticket and concession sales. Although the marketability is strong with these types of events, the practical usages do not stop here. Any given business trying to gain product recognition for a new or existing product should highly consider T-shirt printing, sales, and even giveaways to increase the outward exposure to grow business. The application of T-shirt printing can even extend into home usage, with the development of iron-on T-shirt transfers to be printed from a home PC, even average “Joe consumer” can produce his or her own work to share with the world.

Clearly the applications for T-shirt printing are limitless, from a small home user who just wants to make a statement to the headliners on a given music tour, or corporations looking to gain exposure for marketing campaigns, everyone can get a piece of the proverbial T-shirt pie.

Our Printing Directory is dedicated to the printing industry. Find more information and other printing topics on our T Shirt Printing resource page.

Build Customer Loyalty by Promoting Your Customers

Posted by admin - October 23rd, 2008

Do you want to attract new customers while building greater loyalty among your current customers? Include your customers in your marketing and promotions. By creating greater awareness of your customers (and their businesses) you may help to build their businesses and increase their demand for your products and services. Whether or not using customers in your marketing causes them to buy more from you, your willingness to showcase them will cause them to feel more attachment to you and will encourage them to remain customers for a long time to come. Here are a few ways you can make this work for you.

Ask your customers to share their success stories and get their permission to use them. How have they benefitted from their association with you? Have them share their stories on audio or video or in print and use them in your marketing. In their ads, Sterling Bank in Houston has their small business customers tell how they grew their businesses with the help of their Sterling bankers. It sends a great message about the bank, and increases awareness of the featured businesses.

Tell your customers’ stories in your newsletter. If you publish a print or online newsletter, include profiles of your customers and tell how you worked with them to help them succeed. Or, use the stories in your print ads. A photo of a happy customer accompanied by the story of what you did for them is very persuasive.

Audio and video recordings of customer stories can be incorporated into your television and radio advertising. Hearing customers in their own words is a powerful way to communicate the benefits of doing business with you, and your customers will appreciate the visibility they get when they are featured in your ads. You can also use streaming audio and video files at your web site.

Feature links to your customers’ web sites from yours. It doesn’t cost anything to add a few links, and customers will appreciate the extra visibility. It may also help improve the search engine rankings, not only for your customers’ web sites, but for yours as well.

Make connections between customers. Do you have customers who could benefit from knowing other customers? Perhaps you could make referrals to bring them together. Or, host a networking event where they can get to know each other.

Include customers in your publicity. The media like to have multiple sources for stories, perhaps to back up what you are saying or to provide another point of view. In one case, I was able to get a client included in a story and she was able to get one of her clients into the story, too! Your clients will not only appreciate that you got them publicity, they will be impressed with your media “pull.”

Promoting your customers as well as yourself is a great win-win for your business. Look for opportunities to create a greater bond between yourself and your customers by including them in your marketing and promotions.

Online Help in the Landscaping Business

Posted by admin - October 22nd, 2008

I am a small business owner with a staff of 25 employees. We do both residential and commercial landscaping. We sell and haul a lot of gravel, rocks, sand, fill, and topsoil. As you can imagine, the consistency and appearance of these products is important, so we use rock screens and screening machines. Although much of our work always involves manual labor, we do use machines for our bigger projects. We own some of the equipment, but we occasionally have to rent. It doesn’t make much sense to spend a lot of money buying expensive pieces of machinery we use only once in a while.

I often read industrial reviews to learn more about the equipment, whether it’s maintenance, renting, purchasing, or new models. I’m interested in machinery and technology that will help me grow my business. The reviews aren’t just about that, though. They cover a wide range of business topics and all kinds of tips for different business and business owners. It can be useful to know what they’re thinking; I’m always learning something new. I’m a big believer in meeting and talking to others in the same business, related businesses, and sometimes even unrelated businesses because that’s what networking is all about.

Exposure: Name Recognition

Posted by admin - October 21st, 2008

When you meet someone new, do they remember your name? Do you remember theirs?

Sometimes you do, but more often you don’t. But, the more often you meet that person, the more times you hear their name, the more likely you are to remember them, recognize their name, and know who they are the next time you see them.

Exposure

Get out there. Put a smile on your face, introduce yourself, and expose yourself to people. In business, half the power of arriving is just in being “out there”. Marketing your product, marketing your services, or marketing yourself all includes the initialization of exposure.

Name Recognition

In order to get name recognition, your name has to be out there, publicized, and be remembered. The more your name is seen “out there”, the more recognizable it will be. Once your name is recognized, your options broaden, and the possibilities become endless.

Network

When you meet people, give them a business card. Be prepared to tell them what you do. Give them a marketing spiel that brings them back to your card thinking, “Great, I’m going to call this guy!”

Ask about them, get their card, ask what they do, and note their information. Make a contact. Next day, give them a call, tell them you were glad you had an opportunity to get to know them, and ask if there’s anything you can do to help them meet their goals.

Market

Your objective, as ever, is to make a sale. After you offer to help them, you get an idea of what they need that you might have. Provide it. Give them what they want. Meet the needs of your clients and they will be back.

Your business will expand. Profits will increase. And you, my friend, will have made a new friend.

Exposure: It’s the future of network market planning.

Impact your market as never before. Be seen. Be alive. Be creative in your endeavors to brand your business and consume your market.
